The "War" on Drugs is Part of the BIG LIE

Walter Cronkite from Huffington Post:

In Tulia, Texas, an investigator fabricated evidence that sent more than one out of every ten of the town's African American residents to jail on trumped-up drug charges in one of the most despicable travesties of justice this reporter has ever seen.

The federal government has fought terminally ill patients whose doctors say medical marijuana could provide a modicum of relief from their suffering - as though a cancer patient who uses marijuana to relieve the wrenching nausea caused by chemotherapy is somehow a criminal who threatens the public.

People who do genuinely have a problem with drugs, meanwhile, are being imprisoned when what they really need is treatment.

And what is the impact of this policy? ...

Americans are paying too high a price in lives and liberty for a failing war on drugs about which our leaders have lost all sense of proportion. The Drug Policy Alliance is the one organization telling the truth. They need you with them every step of the way.

And that's the way it is.

Emery is held in Canada on an extradition order from the USA because he allegedly sold marijuana seeds to US citizens over the internet.
Being accused of drug dealing by the Bush Drug Empire is laughable at best. It essentially means you are accused of selling a drug in competition to what the Bush's sell through the CIA.

FTW October 24, 2000 - The success of Bush Vice Presidential running mate Richard Cheney at leading Halliburton, Inc. to a five year $3.8 billion "pig-out" on federal contracts and taxpayer-insured loans is only a partial indicator of what may happen if the Bush ticket wins in two weeks. A closer look at available research, including an August 2, 2000 report by the Center for Public Integrity (CPI) at www.public-i.org, suggests that drug money has played a role in the successes achieved by Halliburton under Cheney's tenure as CEO from 1995 to 2000. This is especially true for Halliburton's most famous subsidiary, heavy construction and oil giant, Brown and Root. A deeper look into history reveals that Brown and Root's past as well as the past of Dick Cheney himself, connect to the international drug trade on more than one occasion and in more than one way. This June the lead Washington, D.C. attorney for a major Russian oil company connected in law enforcement reports to heroin smuggling and also a beneficiary of US backed loans to pay for Brown and Root contracts in Russia, held a $2.2 million fund raiser to fill the already bulging coffers of presidential candidate George W. Bush. This is not the first time that Brown and Root has been connected to drugs and the fact is that this "poster child" of American industry may also be a key player in Wall Street's efforts to maintain domination of the half trillion dollar a year global drug trade and its profits. And Dick Cheney, who has also come closer to drugs than most suspect, and who is also Halliburton's largest individual shareholder ($45.5 million), has a vested interest in seeing to it that Brown and Root's successes continue.

Bodies from Viet Nam were used to smuggle drugs ...is this why we are not allowed to see the bodies returning from Iraq?

A MEMBER OF CONGRESS DEFENDS FREEDOM OF THE PRESS AND FREE SPEECH IN DRUG WAR LAWSUIT

COURAGE UNBRIDLED

(Sept. 7, 2001) -- Continuing her ongoing display of courage and truth telling as the lone member of Congress willing to tackle risky issues such as Cointelpro, US inspired antics in Colombia and Africa and other illegal covert operations, Rep. Cynthia McKinney, (D) GA. Has now come out as true defender of independent journalists all over the world. FTW has previously reported on the devastating lawsuit brought by Banco Nacional de Mexico (Banamex) owner Roberto Hernandez against NarcoNews Publisher Al Giordano and Mario Menendez of the Mexican daily, "Por Esto."
http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/pandora/courage.html.

You can now read her letter to former Democratic National Chairman Robert Strauss who heads the powerful law firm of Aikin Gump which is bringing the suit on behalf of Banamex.

After having lost a lawsuit and an appeal in Mexico, Hernandez decided this year to throw his billions at the two journalists - who publish in Mexico - for successfully exposing his connections to drug trafficking on the Yucatan Peninsula and his relations with politicians including Bill Clinton, Vicente Fox and George W Bush. He brought the suit, widely regarded as meritless, in New York City. If successful, that would have meant that an Internet journalist in any country might successfully be sued in any other country in the world where the legal system was friendlier to the plaintiff. Such a move would have us all travelling the world to defend our stories.

In May, Citigroup announced that it was buying Banamex for $12.5 billion dollars.

Now, Cynthia McKinney speaks out - against money and power - to defend our most precious of liberties - freedom of speech and of the press. FTW encourages its readers to contact McKinney and express support for her actions. You can use the phone, a fax or send an email:

202-225-1605 phone
202-226-0691 -- fax
cymck@mail.house.gov -- email

...

You can tell how accurate McKinney is by how hysterical the right wing smear machine reacts to every little thing she does. I would encourage everyone to walk back through all McKinney's statements (especially about 9/11) and see how her accuracy has vindicated her position.

The war on drugs is a war on people buying drugs not sold by the Bush (CIA) drug empire.

The Bush family's involvement in drug-running is an open secret, but Dick Cheney's direct link to a global drug pipeline through a US construction company is less well known.

FROM MEDELLIN TO MOSCOW WITH BROWN & ROOT

Halliburton Corporation's Brown & Root is one of the major components of the Bush-Cheney Drug Empire. The success of Bush Vice-Presidential running mate Richard Cheney at leading Halliburton, Inc. to a five-year, US$3.8 billion "pig-out" on federal contracts and taxpayer-insured loans is only a partial indicator of what may happen, now that the Bush ticket has won the US presidential election.
