Rumsfeld, like Bush, Cheney, Rice and Rove, blows the profile for narcissistic psychopath off the page.

War criminal personified, Rumsfeld is not able to display much in the way of human traits. He appears to be devoid of empathy, kindness, intuition or any sense of rational logic.

Like Falwell, he follows a mantra that says,
"Just keep believing you are right no matter what and debate that way."

Neither understanding that the entire purpose of the "debate" is then lost. This man and his 30-40 year tenure manipulating in the background, unelected, has been involved in every RNC USA started war and then some.
Because of him, Cheney and Bush the USA owes much of the world an apology and considerable monetary support for time to come. But the USA is now broke and owes China a bundle...
this Neo Con crowd having achieved more in the destruction of America and democracy than any cult in history.
I don't know why Murtha went public (just as the right wingers don't know) but I can make my own guess: He did it to try to prevent Rumsfeld's toadies from classifying and then deep sixing the investigative report, as they tried to bury the Taguba report on Abu Ghraib. And if the past really is prologue, Murtha is probably speaking on behalf of some fairly senior Marine officers who either can't abide a cover up, or who want to pin the blame on the people who created this mess, and left the jarheads in Haditha to deal with it, instead of on their beloved Corps.As for the excuse making, well, it's just Abu Ghraib, not to mention My Lai, all over again. There's something about war atrocities (ours as well as the other side's) that brings out the absolute worst in the keyboard commandos. If they could only hear themselves, they might realize they sound just like a bunch of Serbian paramilitary groupies, arguing that their boys couldn't have raped and murdered their way through Bosnia because Serbian fighters are men of honor, that everybody knows the foreign media made those stories up, and that the "Turks" just got what was coming to them -- all at the same time.But then, if they could hear themselves, if they understood what role they are playing in the degradation of a nation and its armed forces, they probably wouldn't be doing it. Or at least, I prefer to think so. Better to believe we're living in the same country with a movement of fools, rather than out-and-out fascists.

When the Abu Ghraib horror show first aired on 60 Minutes, I remember wondering whether it would prove to be the Iraq War's version of the My Lai Massacre -- with the photo of the hooded man on his box, arms spread in a crucifix, as the enduring image of a military machine run amok(actually the procedures were written by Rumsfeld), just as a photo of murdered Vietnamese women and children, sprawled in the middle of a muddy road, became the Americal Division's permanent badge of shame.

To a degree, that's what happened -- with the hapless sadists of the 184th Infantry Regiment serving as the collective stand-ins for Lt. William Calley, and Colin Powell reprising his earlier role as the bullshit artist telling everybody what they want to hear. But now it appears that instead of a symbolic My Lai, we have the genuine article:

A Pentagon probe into the death of Iraqi civilians last November in the Iraqi city of Haditha will show that U.S. Marines "killed innocent civilians in cold blood," a U.S. lawmaker said Wednesday.From the beginning, Iraqis in the town of Haditha said U.S. Marines deliberately killed 15 unarmed Iraqi civilians, including seven women and three children . . .On Wednesday, Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., said the accounts are true.
You certainly DO Rummie. Unelected, as usual, you pull the strings in the background and like Cheney, seem
to carry your own level of Presidential protection.

Like the rest of these thugs and dead enders - you are not daring, or adventuresome or strategically brilliant - simply capable of doing the unspeakable to anyone not agreeing with you - and it has nothing to do with patriotism.

Greed, murder and power are the goals. You are quite simply protected from the law by a media so brainwashed they are incapable of critical thinking and a Supreme Court appointed by the likes of two Bushs.

The USA has operated a terrorist training school through the School of Americas for over twenty years. Quite simply the USA has intervened for corporations in over 120 countries in the world.

“This one is ugly," one official told NBC News.Ugly? That doesn't even begin to cover it. Dick Cheney is ugly. The Pentagon is ugly. An Abrams tank is ugly. Executing helpless women and children while they're huddled on the floor, praying to their God, is a war crime committed by terrorists. It's Lidice and Rwanda and Srebrenica and, of course, My Lai. The men who committed this crime aren't really human any more -- they shed their humanity like a snake sheds its skin when they walked into those houses and started shooting. All that's left of them is a dark pit at the center of their reptilian brain stems, a place that knows no pity or remorse or even self-awareness. They're lost souls -- lost to the world and to themselves.I don't know if it's better or worse that this atrocity seems to have been committed by a military unit completely out of control, instead of one that was following orders, as was clearly the case at Abu Ghraib. One one hand, you can argue that it's simply a reminder that Americans are as capable of being beasts as anyone else: Germans, Japanese, Russians, Serbs, Arabs, Afghans, Israelis, Somalians, Afrikaaners, Salvadorans -- the list goes on and on. There's nothing exceptional about us, even in our war crimes.

What is most ugly, is the deafening silence from middle America. Oh the polls are down for George, but heck a bit of media manipulation (they sold shock and awe), and the people will be back in the pocket again.

WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH AMERICANS? Why aren't you marching by the millions to stand surrounding your capitol and demand these EVIL, ENTITLED, cowards LEAVE. What are you going to believe the mountain of fact - or the lying goose-stepping, greedy little bastards of commerce who would screw their own mother for a buck?

You can almost have a life OR, you can live a life of passion - one that says,

"God thank you for giving me this life, this planet, this earth, this magnificent, wonderful earth with all the bounty we as humans will ever need, all we have to do is learn to see the God in each other to share it. "
